Multiple Sales Channels, One Command Center
The Leifheit brand has been known to customers for 60 years. Its products are sold in more than 80 countries around the world. At Leifheit, tradition and innovation go hand in hand. When they founded the company in 1959, Ingeborg and Gunter Leifheit had a clear vision: “Thanks to Leifheit, you’ll have more free time.”
The household goods they offer are meant to make it easier for people to work, and the time saved is to be spent on enjoying what is pleasant and valuable in life.
Continuing the mission
e-point has been Leifheit’s global digital transformation partner for more than three years. Its goal, according to the company’s vision, is to increase customers’ free time through fast and convenient online ordering.
Our cooperation began with a pilot implementation of an e-commerce platform in Poland, then we implemented the PWA standard and carried out a store redesign. Following the success of the pilot, the company decided to launch online sales in Germany and another 11 countries.
The next stage of the brand’s transformation is the development of distribution channels with new marketplaces. In response to this need, we recommended implementing a new tool – BaseLinker.
What is BaseLinker?
BaseLinker is a system that integrates different sales platforms, automates processes and makes it possible to:
Handle orders from all online outlets in one place |
Bulk list items on multiple platforms with a few clicks |
Automatically synchronize inventory and prices with internal systems |
BaseLinker also automates communication with customers – sending them messages, changing order statuses, issuing invoices, and sending packages.
Integration with SAP Hybris
Our main project task was to integrate Leifheit’s e-commerce system with the new tool. This involved building a SAP Hybris integration with the BaseLinker API.
"At this point, we have synchronized catalogs, products and orders coming in from external marketplaces. Allegro became the first target, and eventually the system will be integrated with many other platforms like eBay and Amazon."
How did we work?
The project required a thorough analysis of the tool, and then:
- the creation of a new module for the SAP Hybris system,
- building an integration with Baselinker’s API,
- developing full synchronization of the product-catalog tree,
- synchronizing the prices of products and their inventories,
- synchronizing orders,
- testing all functionalities.
Outcome
Within one month, we were able to integrate the new tool with the client’s e-commerce platform. This gives Leifheit the opportunity to develop multi-channel sales, which has a real impact on sales results. In the future, the company may use other BaseLinker integrations, of which there are more than 300 at this point.
